such an encouragement and inspiration to the staff
and spouses who
"Walk the Toughest Beat." We can't wait for 2012!
Why
a Corrections Couples Retreat?
If
the motto of the California Correctional Peace
Officers' Association "The
Toughest Beat in the State" is accurate,
then marriages in
Corrections may just be the
toughest to successfully maintain. We know the rate
of family stress in law enforcement marriages is
high, and it may be even higher in Corrections.
This
Weekend Marriage Retreat will allow
Corrections
couples to get away, relax in a safe environment,
focus on themselves and their marriages, and return
home better equipped to face the challenges of a Corrections marriage.
Retreat
Objectives
The Weekend
Marriage Retreat is designed to provide
Corrections
staff and spouses with a fun, relaxing,
informative, and encouraging weekend.
Participants
This retreat is
exclusively for
Corrections staff
(custody, probation, parole) and their
spouses, both active and retired. (Only
one spouse needs to be in Corrections). Strong marriages
will be encouraged; marriages that need help and
support will
find it.
Schedule
Our
retreat will begin on Friday evening with check-in
beginning at 4:00 pm, and will conclude on Sunday at
12:00 noon. A detailed agenda will be provided on
check-in.

Correctional peace
officers and spouses who understand the challenges
of a
Corrections marriage. They have learned through
their own life's journeys how to have a marriage
that not only survives, but thrives!
